In a recent interview, ProCap Chairman Anthony Pompliano analyzed the reasons why Bitcoin may underperform in 2025. He pointed out that the decline in Bitcoin is the result of various trends, including Wall Street changing the rules of the Bitcoin game. As Bitcoin is integrated into the traditional financial system, some early holders are exiting. However, the risk of Bitcoin is now lower than at any point in history, with its decentralization covering everyone from individual retail investors to large financial institutions, and proving its resilience in multiple economic crises. Nevertheless, lower risk also means lower returns. While Bitcoin is expected to continue outperforming stock indices in the next decade, it may not see the over 80% compound annual growth rate seen in the past. Pompliano also disclosed that he increased his Bitcoin holdings in 2025, citing Charlie Munger's quote: 'Great wealth comes from waiting, not trading.'
