Following the departure of Democratic commissioner Caroline Crenshaw, known for her anti-crypto stance, from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the SEC is now dominated by Republicans. With unprecedented control over administrative agencies by the Trump administration, it is expected that the SEC, now composed entirely of Republicans, will accelerate the formulation of pro-crypto regulatory policies by 2026, with internal opposition fading away.

The current three Republican commissioners at the SEC are Chairman Paul Atkins, Hester Peirce (also known as Crypto Mom), and Mark Uyeda. With two vacant seats, this marks the first time that all current commissioners belong to a single party, a situation described as unprecedented by U.S. economic policy experts.
