In response to the shutdown of DNS seed nodes operated by the Electric Coin Company (ECC) on January 8, the Zcash Foundation has officially announced the deployment of five new DNS seed nodes in the United States and Europe. The newly deployed seed nodes are located in South Carolina and Oregon in the U.S., as well as in Belgium, Germany, and Finland in Europe.
Currently, with the addition of the existing seed nodes, the total number of seed nodes operated by the Zcash Foundation has reached six, aiming to ensure reliable node discovery and improve wallet and node startup performance. Furthermore, the Zcash Foundation is considering further deployments in other regions to enhance coverage and reliability, while Shielded Labs is also working on deploying additional seed nodes.
