According to reports, blockchain infrastructure company Global Settlement Network (GSX) has partnered with Indonesia's local Globalasia Infrastructure Fund to launch a pilot project in Jakarta, Indonesia. The project will tokenize assets of 8 government-contracted water treatment plants, with a goal of raising up to $35 million for upgrading water treatment facilities and expanding water supply networks. These facilities currently serve over 36,000 residents, providing approximately 2,300 liters of clean water per second, and are expected to generate over $15 million in revenue by the end of 2026.
Global Settlement Network plans to gradually expand its asset tokenization program to the entire Southeast Asia region in the next 12 months, aiming to tokenize water assets worth $200 million.
