In 2020 cryptocurrency criminals have already managed to steal over $1 billion, according to CipherTrace.

On June 2, the blockchain analytics firm released its Spring 2020 Cryptocurrency Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Report which found that crypto thefts, hacks, and frauds have made $1.36 billion in the first 5months of 2020.

At this pace 2020 would be the second-costliest year in the history of crypto, behind 2019’s record $4.5 billion, but will likely surpass 2018’s $1.7 billion, the firm estimates.
