A court in Seoul has ordered 15 crypto wallets belonging to the suspected leader of a telegram channel presumed to be circulating child pornography to be frozen, cointelegraph.com reports.
Prosecutors hope the confiscated funds will help them to determine financial gains made by suspected leader, Cho Ju-Bin, through running the platform. The child porn ring called Nth Room had subscribed members who paid in cryptocurrency.
Bithumb delisted the popular currency among Nth Room users, Monero (XMR), on June 1st to aid the investigation. Officials have been able to trace around 40 users who may have paid with cryptos to access the videos, cointelegraph.com wrote.
