Zoom, the video conference app, will not encrypt calls for free users, in order to create space for collaboration with the FBI and other authorities.

According to a conference call with Zoom CEO Eric Yuan, the app's end-to-end encryption service, which is still in development, will be for corporate clients to prevent bad actors from using the app

“Free users for sure we don’t want to give that because we also want to work together with FBI, with local law enforcement in case some people use Zoom for a bad purpose,” Yuan said.
