A nonprofit focused on offshore energy launched a blockchain management system to help companies transport wastewater produced during oil and natural gas extraction, as reported by coindesk.com.

The nonprofit called The Offshore Operators Committee found that the new system reduced wastewater management steps from 16 to seven, reduced workflow process from 90-120 days to 1-7 days and allowed for 85% of all volume measurements to be automatically validated against data from the 10 oil and gas companies who collaborated on the project.
