According to Jinshi News, US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin stated on Monday that the US currently takes an 'accepting' stance on some ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He also noted that any measures aimed at mitigating the rise in oil prices will depend on the duration of the Iran conflict. Mnuchin said, 'We are seeing more fuel transport ships setting sail. Iranian ships have already left, and we are allowing this to happen to supply fuel to other parts of the world. We are now also seeing Indian ships setting sail.' He added, 'This situation should gradually increase before any fleet or escort fleet appears in the Gulf region. So we believe Iran will naturally make concessions. Currently, we are satisfied with this. We hope for sufficient global supply of goods.' When asked if the Trump administration will use other means besides releasing oil reserves to alleviate the rise in oil prices and the impact of the war, Mnuchin stated, 'This will depend on the duration of the conflict.'
