CNBC reports the Trump administration has canceled on Friday its ban on Chinese passenger carriers from flying to the U.S. with a cap of two flights a week after China loosens its restrictions on U.S. flights there on Thursday.

On June 3, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced its plan to ban Chinese carriers into the U.S., starting in mid-June, as Beijing did not permit U.S. flights to enter China since services suspended earlier this year because of coronavirus.

China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Office tweeted on Thursday, "China's Civil Aviation Administration has been in close communication with U.S. Department of Transportation and announced policy adjustments."
