According to the latest disclosure of ConsenSys researcher Ben Edgington, Ethereum 2.0 testing work in the stage 0 is currently entering its peak period, and developers have observed deposit failure causing 32 ETH permanently lost.

Since the deposit contract has been formally verified, the developers do not want to redesign the contract. Thus, the proposed solution is to introduce EIP-2537 in Ethereum 1.0, and it will also involve an agency contract that can charge the depositor's deposits and forward to the deposit contract if the inspection is correct. Ultimately this plan depends on whether the participants are willing to accept it.
