John McAfee, creator of McAfee the first commercial anti-virus software and controversial figure has thrown his hat into the cryptocurrency market, according to coindesk.com. The McAfee Freedom Coin will be releasing this fall.
On the website McAfee talks about a coin that hopes to usher in a new era of economic freedom. The sire goes on to explain the coin will have no relation to other fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies. The coins value will be zero in relation to other currencies but it’s natural market value will be open to grow
This isn’t McAfee’s first venture into cryptocurrency, as he was originally involved with initial coin offericings (ICO). This all came to an end when McAfee alleged that he would no longer work with ICOs due to SEC threats. McAfee eventually revealed his company was making more than $100,000 per promotional ICO tweet.
With McAfee leading the charge on Freedom coin only one thing can be guaranteed, this will be an interesting venture to watch.
