Ripple was named as one of CNBC's 50 Disruptor Companies for 2020.

The Disruptor 50 list recognizes 50 private companies shaping business and market competition, the announcement states. 

The companies represent a range of fields including education, health, agriculture and fintech. Ripple uses blockchain to facilitate global money transfers and is currently valued at $10 billion.

1,355 companies were nominated for the list and this year the advisory counsel factored in how companies responded to COVID-19. 37 of the companies awarded have hired employees since the pandemic began.
