The Ethereum 2.0 research and development team posted its most recent update on the progress of the highly anticipated mainnet launch on Tuesday, June 23.

The launch will most notably mark the switch to a proof-of-stake consensus network. The post emphasized that the team is hard at work despite no formal release date being set. The post also gave several project updates. 

It announced that eth2 deposit contract has been made more secure and is now written in Solidity. It also celebrated that the grant for Sigma Prime's beacon-fuzz has been extended.
