REvil ransomware gang is auctioning off personal information after Interacard, a debit card service provider, failed to pay ransom, as reported by Cointelegraph.
The auction starts at $100,000 and participants are required to pay using XRP. Items for up auction include databases, technical documents, customer information and almost all information from the company network, according to the auction listing. The auction ends in just under four days from the time of publication.
Brett Callow, a threat analyst at malware lab Emsisoft, told Cointelegraph that the gang could have begun auctioning off data stolen from before its leak site was launched in February. This means that data from companies hacked between April 2019 and February 2020 could see their clients' data going up for auction next.
