A Chinese court is using a blockchain-based electronic seal to protect its property, as reported by Global Times.

Executive Bureau of the People's Court in Haidian District, Beijing used a seal on a property in Chaoyang district on Friday, July 3. The blockchain seal allows for real-time video monitoring and alarm activation.

The electronic seal also sends alerts to concerned parties if it is tampered with and delivers a voice warning to potential perpertrators of the legal consequences of destroying the seal.

Given the security data is stored on a blockchain, law enforcement officials could review a property's history for as long as it has been electronically sealed.
