Banco Santander has plans to expand its Ripple payments platform to other countries after launching in the United States, Poland, Brazil and Spain in 2018, as reported by Daily Hodl.

The Ripple One Pay FX payment platform currently operates in 19 countries and allows for half of the bank's international transfers to be handled by the Ripple app. The platform uses Ripple's payment messaging system to facilitate fiat-to-fiat transactions.

Ed Metzger, chief technology officer for One Pay FX, said that Ripple aids speed of international transfers while also providing transparency to customers. Santander's CTO says the company is planning to expand its One Pay FX service.
