IBM is cooperating with J.M. Smucker Company—the food giant behind Folgers, Café Bustelo, and Dunkin’—to track and trace the supply chain of Colombian coffee, announced Wednesday.

Given the track-and-trace and pinpoint provenance capabilities it has, blockchain enables coffee drinkers to directly help small coffee farmers. 

With help from tech provider Farmer Connect, the coffee blockchain which is built on the IBM Blockchain Transparent Supply platform is ready to go into production.
