Hackers Have Started Moving $27 Million Worth of Bitcoin From the 2016 Bitfinex Hacking Incident

Hackers have recently started transferring approximately 2550 Bitcoin ($27.59 million worth)  to addresses that they can control. These Bitcoins were stolen from the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex in 2016.

The transaction activity was discovered by the crypto tracker Whale Alert on July 27. According to Finance Magnates, Bitfinex has confirmed that these transactions have nothing to do with its LEO white-paper, in which the exchange proposed to “reward” the hackers for returning the funds.
