Large batches of options contracts for both Bitcoin and Ethereum expire on Friday, July 31, leaving investors to wonder how the expiration will affect the price.

Recent tweets from Skew — a crypto analytics platform — show that 68k worth of Bitcoin contracts expire on Friday and 260K worth of Ethereum contracts will expire as well. 

At the end of June $930 million worth of Bitcoin options contracts expired and for weeks leading up to the event investors had been skittish, but the expiry day ended up having little effect on the currency's price.
