A generational difference among retail investors appeared to be significant during the pandemic, according to strategists from JPMorgan Chase & Co. 

Older investors are more interested in buying gold, while millennials embrace Bitcoins. Whereas older ones are selling equities, millennials snap up tech stocks.

Both seen as an alternative for currency, gold and bitcoins have experienced price rallies in recent months. For the first time gold price breaches the $2000 level on August 4, while BTC price is pushing towards $12,000.
