Bitmain announced on August 6 that it will postpone its Antminer orders until September or October 2020 due to “external disturbances on company operation”.
According to the announcement, the company provided two treatment plans for customers who are affected by the delay, while customers can only choose one of the two options.
“(1) For products that have been delivered for more than 10 consecutive days affected by the delay, the PPS revenue of the relevant supercomputer server from the 11th day of delayed delivery to the day before the actual delivery will be compensated by a discount equivalent to the above PPS revenue. (2) According to the contract, if we still have not shipped the products within 60 days after you formally notify us in written form, you can apply to request a refund.”
As the world’s largest Bitcoin mining hardware company, Bitmain is believed to be hindered by its internal dramas, rather than external disturbances. Industry experts such as Dovey Wan tweeted that the delay was caused by the conflict between co-founder Micro Ketuan Zhan and current CEO Jihan Wu.
