Bankenverband, the Association of German Banks, released a paper on Wednesday stating how the Eurozone economy would benefit from a “programmable digital euro,” according to BeInCrypto.

The paper outlined possible risks from digital currencies that aren’t a problem with the state-determined monetary system. The paper reflects the views of 11 members of the associations and over 200 private commercial banks. This paper comes as Germany attempts to catch China in the race to release the first national digital currency
