Coinbase Co-founder and CEO, Brian Armstrong, discussed the inspiration behind Coinbase in a series of tweets on Thursday.

On Twitter Armstrong explained how he first received his inspiration for Coinbase back in 2010. Armstrong was reading through Bitcoin white paper for the first time when he was struck with the inspiration to build Coinbase.

Armstrong stated, “I wanted to make it easy and trusted for anyone in the world to own Bitcoin, so we could see the potential of this new technology."

Oct. 31, marks the 11-year anniversary of the release of Bitcoin white paper.
