Regarding the frivolous class action lawsuit against Bitfinex last month, today, the company  announced that it would file a motion to dismiss in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York. The motion reportedly claims that there is a lack of required legal basis for many plaintiffs’ causes of action. Additionally, Bitfinex also suggests that there are many reasons to be skeptical about the claims including the accusations of bitcoin manipulation relying solely on a draft of an unpublished academic paper. The company states that this paper contains major methodological flaws and the complaint is not fully supported with evidence that Tether manipulated the market from March to December 2017.By Minh Nguyen
