Russia’s intelligence agency the Federal Security Service (FSB) may be the reason for the disappearance of $450 million worth of cryptocurrency from an online exchange platform, the BBC has reported.

It is believed that when the online exchange Wex went out of business it was due to the FSB. One of the site’s co-founders claimed he was forced to give up information about customer’s digital wallets to the FSB in 2018. That information was then allegedly used to confiscate the cryptocurrency which users had saved on the platform, the total worth of which currently around $450 million.
