According to the Japan Times, Tokyo District Court has issued a protective order, anticipating the confiscation of cryptocurrency assets that were stolen from the 2018 CoinCheck hacking incident.

The stolen cryptocurrencies, believed to be fenced by a doctor from Obihiro City, amount to 4.8 million yen ($45,000) in XEM and Bitcoin. 58 billion yen ($550 million) of XEM in total were looted by hackers in 2018.

It is believed to be the first such order issued for cryptocurrency assets in Japan.
