Chinese company Huawei has built a blockchain platform to help the Beijing government track and manage citizens' data, according to a recent report by People's Daily on Monday, August 24.

The new platform forwards the mission of China's "New Infrastructure Initiative" which aims to create safe storage for peoples' data which can be easily shared between government agencies. Beijing plans to create a blockchain network encompassing 50 agencies within the region.

Data stored on the platform will include medical records, property registration and real-time car parking information.
