On Tuesday morning various Austrian companies received emails demanding they pay $20,000 in Bitcoin within the next 80 hours or risk a bomb explosion, according to local media outlets.

Austria's Federal Criminal Police deployed vehicles to Vienna and Tyrol but did not find evidence of planted explosives. In a statement they noted that Bitcoin bomb threats are a well known phenomenon.
