John McAfee has not left the Ghost project completely despite previous reports and one ominous comment from McAfee himself.
He clarified in an interview with Cointelegraph that he has not left the Ghost ecosystem entirely, only the Ghost privacy coin. He added that the ecosystem is centered around the Ghost cell phone service.
Reports began swirling on Wednesday, August 19 that McAfee was leaving the project after he wrote in a tweet that he had abandoned Ghost. He cited poor management dooming the project to fail as the reason for his departure.
Ghost Coin was led by Josh Case who is involved with various other projects. McAfee demanded Case leave his other endeavors and when he refused McAfee left Ghost Coin.
