DeFi has grabbed the attention of the crypto community in recent months with yield farming projects like YAM or Spaghetti gaining widespread popularity. Yearn.finance is the latest DeFi project to steal the spotlight with its recent price move above Bitcoin's all-time-high of $20,000.
Over this weekend, Yearn.finance's price soared past $30,000 and almost reached $40,000 before dropping back down. The token has grown 3,500% over the past month. At the time of writing, YFI is trading hands at $38,105 and is up 19%.
YFI is the governance token for the yEarn yield farming DeFi protocol. Similarly to Bitcoin, creators of the token chose to cap the supply at 30,000.
