Ethereum miner revenue just reached a 5-year high of 2,267.631 ETH, according to data from Glassnode.

The milestone comes one day after gas fees grabbed headlines after Ethereum miners earned over $500,000 in one hour on Tuesday, September 1.

High fees have been a returning topic of conversation as DeFi's popularity grows. The new projects have caused network congestion leading to longer wait times and pushed fees even higher.

Total fees paid also reached an all-time-high of 1,699.964 ETH, Glassnode data shows.
