Bitcoin exchange Bitstamp has integrated matching technology from Nasdaq with its platform making it the first crypto exchange with a matching engine up to the caliber of traditional finance exchanges, according to a recent announcement.

The new matching engine will allow Bitstamp to keep up even during high volume spikes. Orders are matched as they are opened without a waiting line, so customers know immediately if their action was successful or if the operation is not available at that time.

The release states that the exchange will now operate 1,250 times faster and increase throughput by 400 times.
