According to the anonymous founder of Sushiswap (@ChefNomi)'s newest twitter, he/she has returned $14 million worth of Ether (38,000 Ether) to the community. 

The post said: "I will let the community decide how much I deserve as the original creator of SushiSwap. In any currency (ETH/SUSHI/etc). With any lockup schedule."  The founder will continue to participate in the discussion and technical implementation of SushiSwap in the background, but will no longer control nor become a part of community governance.
