A new Sushi proposal is asking the community to approve hiring general manager 0xMaki to work on the platform full time, according to the Sushi website.

The proposal highlights that SushiSwap does not have a full time development team and that one of the leaders of the platform, 0xMaki, is still working a day job. The proposal suggests granting him a one-time founders fee of 500k Sushi (worth $1.5 million) in addition to a payment of 500k Sushi over a two-year period for continued work.

0xMaki's role would be to act as head of the core team focused on building out the platform. His salary would be paid out by multisig holders. 0xMaki stated his intent to accept the position if the proposal is approved and asked his followers to vote in favor. He added that even if the proposal does not go through he will continue working on the project.

Larry Cermak, director of research at The Block, retweeted 0xMaki's statement and noted that while he believed the founders of SushiSwap should be rewarded, he will not be supporting the proposal because the payday is too large.
