CEO and founder of Coinbase Brian Armstrong spoke out against restrictive Apple app store policies targeting the DeFi space in a recent Twitter thread.

Armstrong expressed frustration that app store restrictions have prevented Coinbase from enabling cryptocurrency earning features or allowing access to dapps on iOS apps. He says that the app store guidelines have prevented Coinbase from listing dapps, even though they are all accessible through regular web browsers and are essentially just websites.

These restrictions, according to Armstrong, hurt the experience of both Coinbase and Apple users and also prevent underbanked populations from accessing a global credit market through the crypto community.

He lamented that Apple's policies are holding back progress in the world and criticised the company for censorship, particularly when it comes to cryptocurrencies and DeFi. Armstrong ended by noting that Coinbase will be filing an official request asking Apple to allow users to earn crypto and see a list of dapps.
