Coinbase Pro will start handing network fees off directly to customers, according to a recent tweet.

Until now, Coinbase Pro has absorbed network fees for customers, but the announcement stated that since networks have become busier the exchange will no longer be taking this approach. The statement added that broader crypto adoption through DeFi products, new payments systems and other projects have caused the busy networks.

Coinbase Pro will now charge a fee based on the exchange's estimate of network transaction fees it expects to pay. The exchange will not charge fees for transfers between Coinbase wallets or accounts.
