Crypto exchange Bitfinex has been granted additional time to provide documents for a court case filed against the company. The claim argues that the exchange hid the loss of client and corporate funds, as reported by Bloomberg.

Bitfinex faces charges from New York of hiding $800 million worth of losses. Countering the claim, the company is arguing that the funds were deposited at a Panamanian firm called Crypto Capital Corp. and then seized by government authorities.

The dispute between the defense and prosecution revolves around how many documents Bitfinex is required to provide relating to stablecoin Tether.

In a Thursday ruling, the judge extended an earlier injunction by 90 days and appointed a special referee to set a schedule for the exchange to provide the stipulated documents. The referee will also determine which documents are necessary for court proceedings.
