According to Reuters, two documents from the European Union showed that by 2024, the European Union will introduce a new framework to make cross-border payments faster and cheaper through the use of blockchain and crypto assets (such as stable coins).

In addition, as the lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic shows the increasing role of cashless payments, the European Commission decides to formulate a strategy to encourage greater use of digital finance for cash payments, which account for 78% in the eurozone. A draft law will also be presented to clarify the application and use of crypto assets.
