An updated version of the Consumer Safety Technology Act now includes the Digital Taxonomy Act and the Blockchain Innovation Act, two bills which will help lawmakers regulate the blockchain space.

The Digital Taxonomy Act provides concrete definitions for "digital asset" and "digital unit" and turns regulatory control over these two concepts over to the Federal Trade Commission. The Blockchain Innovation Act, if passed, will require the FTC to produce a report on blockchain's role in consumer protection.
