Israel's intelligence community is investigating an attempt to hack about 20 Israeli cryptocurrency executives last month, as reported by local outlet Haaretz.

Targeted executives apparently lost access to their Telegram and email accounts. Their identities were then stolen in a likely SMS spoofing incident that seems to have only affected users of telecom giant Partner.

The hackers demanded crypto payments in exchange for returning account access, but no payments have been made, cyber intelligence firm Pandora Security said.
