After a proposal to migrate LEND to AAVE was passed by AAVE token holders on October 2, over 80% of LEND tokens have migrated to AAVE, according to a recent tweet from AAVE founder and CEO Stani Kulechov. 

100:1 LEND will migrate to AAVE at a rate of 100 LEND per 1 AAVE and 13 million AAVE tokens will be redeemed by LEND holders, according to the initial migration announcement.

The migration is occurring gradually with no deadline. AAVE is the new governance token of the Aave protocol so migrating LEND to AAVE allows users to participate in governance and stake tokens.
