United States lawmakers have appealed to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to hold telecoms providers accountable for not protecting their customers from SIM swap attacks.

Six Democrats from the  U.S. House of Representatives and Senate sent a letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, calling for the agency to impose greater requirements on mobile carriers in order to reduce the risks of SIM swap attacks.
