Stocks started Friday slightly higher despite the disappointing job data, as Wall Street concluded a volatile week fueled by geopolitical concerns.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 3 points higher, just above the flatline. The S&P 500 rose 0.2% while the Nasdaq Composite grew 0.3%. The major averages all scored record highs in spite of posting such small gains.

This market growth comes despite the economy adding only  145,000 jobs in December, which is shy of the 160,000 jobs economists expected to be added.
