The EU's European Investment Fund (EIF) has entered into six equity agreements amounting to $800 million in venture capital funds for European artificial intelligence and blockchain startups, according to Trustnodes. The funds will be used specifically for startups interested in developing fintech, cybersecurity, B2B software, and other rising technological innovations. All eligible startups exist under the EU-affiliated initiative InnovFin Artifiical Intelligence and Blockchain.
The equity agreements comprise only a small part of the European Fund for Strategic Investments's (EFSI) over €530 billion initiative to support startups and smaller businesses as Europe joins the blockchain world and works toward expanding it significantly.
