Christopher Giancarlo, former chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Exchange Commission (CFTC), gave more details about his Digital Dollar Project, according to The Block Crypto. He believes the U.S. central bank functionalities are very limited and seeks to tokenize the currency issued by the Federal Reserve. 

Announced at the Bank of England, Giancarlo formed a group with five other central banks to explore uses cases of central bank digital currencies. Giancarlo gave further detail stating that the digital dollar will be distributed through trusted payment processors.
