Lightning Labs, the developer of the high-speed transaction protocol Lightning Network (LN), has received $10 million in Series A funding round and announced the release of their first paid product.

According to a Feb. 5 blog post from Lightning Labs CEO and co-founder, Elizabeth Stark, the company will utilize these new funds to further the development of their Lightning payments technology and scaling of its developer ecosystem.

In the same post, Lightning Labs introduced the beta version of their first paid product, Lightning Loop. This new product will aid startups, node operators and end users send and receive on Lightning more efficiently, wherein users can transfer funds between the Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain and the LN in a non-custodial manner.
