Decentralized finance protocol Yearn Finance may soon merge with automated market maker SushiSwap, according to a recent blog post from Yearn Finance founder Andre Cronje.

The merger would notably combine both markets' total value locked into a single lending pool. The merger would also mean a combination of technical features and the start of developers sharing resources across platforms.

SushiSwap will mark the fifth DeFi protocol merged with Yearn Finance the prior four being Akropolis, Cover, Cream and Pickle. The SushiSwap merger will however be the first time Yearn is merging with a lending market larger than its own. Both Yearn and SushiSwap token holders will have to vote in favor of the merger for it to become official.
