On Wednesday the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite reached record highs, as tech shares outperformed expectations.
The broad index traded 0.6% higher, breaking their previous record high of 3,385.09, while the Nasdaq climbed 0.9%. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 150 points, or 0.5%.
The Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK), which tracks the S&P 500 tech sector, increased by more than 1% to hit an all-time high. Apple Shares was among the tech shares that contributed to the gains, trading 1.2% higher. Tesla grew by 6.3% after a Piper Sandler analyst increased his price target on the electric car maker to $928 per share from $729 per share.
