Iconloop, a corporate-focused blockchain company based in South Korea, announced that it has obtained approval from the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea to use its blockchain-based decentralized identity (DID) technology to manage driving license data in this country. This trial operation, which is another use case of the DID technology system supported by the Korean government, aims to demonstrate the ability of DID to provide secure data storage and prevent data forgery. In August 2020, Jeju Island used DID technology to track the flow of people infected with Covid-19.
